The Aurora Community Charitable Association is a non-governmental organization that was founded in 03/09/1996. The nonprofit started its activities with the name Beneficente Association Jardim Aurora and Adjacencies, when Dona Terezinha, current president of the association, joined other mothers with the purpose of meeting the needs of the neighborhood Jardim Aurora and promote an improvement in the quality of life of the families of the region, through socio-educational activities.
Due to the lack of opportunities and the exposition of children and adolescents to the violence of the neighborhood, the association was confronted with the need to serve them and, on account of this, raised the first nursery in 2007, where it offers classes for children from zero to four years.
Over the years, the association has expanded its area of activity and began to promote classes and socio-educational activities for children and adolescents in periods, in addition to providing 16 vocational courses for more than 16 years.
The entity opened two more headquarters, another nursery in 2012 and an CCA (center for Children and teenagers) in 2014.
Currently, the NGO has 43 employees and volunteers living in the community, who work every day from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M.. In addition, the Association has eight independent projects, which aim to promote specific improvements. The entity then serves 587 people and there are queues waiting for the two daycare centers.
